Family Matters

Yes, family does matter, to God and to us. At Lauren’s Lighthouse Temple, we take this seriously and playfully. Since moving to our new location in 2022, we are busting at the seams with children and youth. From free reading classes for children, school sponsorships for students (nursery through university), a field trip for our elementary children, to building Children’s and Youth facilities, God is at work in our families! Sixteen of our students have given their lives to Christ and await baptism in April.

Recently, the leadership of LLT planned and hosted a Family Dinner Night at the church. Neighborhood families gathered around dinner tables and enjoyed a meal made for them by our members.

During the evening, Pastor Godly led a discussion highlighting the importance of unity as a family, which included:

  • the relevance of God’s love that must always exist between husband and wife, and the effect this has on the children and the entire family,

  • that parents are the caretakers of the family God has entrusted to them,

  • the positive responsibilities that God expects of parents, such as teaching, guiding, directing and leading the family to the will of God, devoting themselves to the Word of God and prayer,

  • the prudent duties that God is looking for in parents to provide for their children’s needs, giving much attention, care, protection, availability and provision (materially, physically and spiritually) to their children, and

  • that parents are role models to their children and the family, so they must strive to live a life of excellence as salt and light to manifest the glory and praise of God.

Most families in the neighborhood surrounding Lauren’s Lighthouse Temple are very poor, and parents have not had good role models. It is our prayer that, as we support these families practically and spiritually, they will be strengthened for generations to come.
