10th Anniversary and Dedication of our New Building
The Church
Lauren’s Lighthouse Temple is located in Winneba, Ghana, near the coast. It was founded by Scott and Alicia Crawley in memory of their daughter, Lauren.
Lauren had a heart for missions and kids, and had planned to go to Africa in 2008 with her youth group to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those who hadn’t heard. Months before the trip, at age 16, she was tragically killed in a car accident. Five years later, we founded Lauren’s Lighthouse. In 2013, we traveled Ghana to participate in its opening weekend and inaugural service. Pastor Godly Nana Ellioly and his wife Rosemond are the dynamic and caring leaders of the congregation. We work regularly with them and visit Ghana at least once a year.
On March 12, 2023 (Lauren’s birthday), we celebrated our 10-year anniversary and the official opening of our new building (view video below). Scott and I were able to attend and spend the week with all of our Ghanaian family.
Lauren’s Lighthouse Temple has been meeting in its new location for over a year, in the midst of construction, in order to reach out to the community surrounding it. They hold worship services, Children’s and Youth Sunday School, and free children’s reading classes for neighborhood children. Through generous sponsors, LLT also makes public school education available to many of these children.
